You need lots of new furniture ready for the arrival of your baby, but one thing lots of expectant mothers really want is a nursing rocking chair which helps you to rock your baby to sleep and nurse them. They are helpful and you will get a lot of use out of one, but they are really expensive and when your baby gets older you won’t use it again.

Instead consider just getting a traditional rocking chair, that way it takes up a lot less room and you might actually get some use out of it after the baby has grown out of it (plus it is easier to clean). Having a baby is a wonderful time and most expectant mothers don’t mind splashing out on things like a nursing chair so they can give their baby everything they feel they will need, but all of that equipment depreciates as soon as it has been used and then after a year or two you are left with a lot of equipment you don’t need any more but can’t really sell. So even though you are excited then you need to stop and think before you buy anything for your baby, and think of whether you need it and if you can get it from elsewhere.

Baby clothes are the worst purchases though, you will be shocked at just how quickly your baby grows out of them, so that expensive and adorable new outfit you bought them is only going to last a few months before it is consigned to the bottom drawer or you try to sell it. Instead of wasting your money just buy cheap baby clothes instead, they look adorable enough anyway without some exotic outfit on!
